DVD duplication
DVD duplication is where we copy the data to your discs using lasers, just like the DVD writers in most PC's today. This is ideal for low volume orders from 1 to 500 units. Because there is only a small setup fee it keeps the costs down for each DVD
DVD replication
When you are looking to produce 500+ DVD's we recommend 'Replication'. When replicating discs we make a master to mold your discs against, this process incurs a larger setup fee but allows us to manufacture each disc at a lower cost per unit. We also use duplication for express orders that need delivering in under the 8 days required for replication
Your data, whether software, music or marketing presentation, is transferred to a glass master which is used to create a metal stamper, the stamper is then mounted onto the disc moulding machines. The DVD replication process works in two stages, first polycarbonate plastic pellets are injection moulded into the shape of your completed disc, then molten aluminium is sputtered to the back surface of the disc creating the reflective layer that makes the disc work when read by the player's laser. Your information is stored on the disc as pits in the polycarbonate surface.
